How this is built

Last updated: June 25, 2026
Plain version: every question, case, and drill here is written by a practicing dental hygienist, mapped to the official NBDHE blueprint, and checked against current clinical guidelines. Here's exactly how — and what's inside.

Who writes it

B
Belinda Marsh, RDH
Registered Dental Hygienist (Idaho State University, 2022) · Founder, The House of Hygiene

The content is written by a working hygienist who sat these boards, not assembled from a stock question bank. The whole reason this exists is that the study tools available didn't reflect how a clinician actually reasons through a patient — so every case and item is written from that chairside point of view.

How each item is built

Clinical review

Clinically reviewed by the Advisory Board.
The House of Hygiene Advisory Board — a panel of practicing dental hygienists and dentists — reviews this material for clinical accuracy and alignment with current standards. Most recent review: June 2026.

How it's kept current

Boards and guidelines change. When the NBDHE blueprint shifts or a clinical guideline is updated, the affected items are revised — and a Study Set purchase includes a full year of those updates as new cases and questions ship. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

What this is — and isn't

This is an independent study aid built to help you prepare for the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination. The House of Hygiene is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE), and completing this material does not guarantee a passing score. It is a tool to make your studying active, current, and honest about where you stand.
